Welcome

Hi, my name is Brittany, and welcome to my blog, The BeST. I am 28 years old, and I live in central Virginia. I wanted to start this blog as a place to share my grief story and my experiences with loss. I lost my mom in April of 2021 after just a few weeks of being diagnosed with cancer. I have also lost my three aunts on my mom’s side, my mom’s only siblings, so unfortunately I am very familiar with loss.

When my mom was diagnosed she told me I should write a book to help people going through cancer, hospice, and death. My goal for this blog is to share practical advice and my experiences regarding hospice and end of life care, breast cancer, funeral planning, autopsies, and more. I also want to share what it’s like emotionally to navigate the grief of losing one of the most important people in your life.

I don’t want all of my blog posts to be dark and depressing, so along with my grief story, I want to share cherished memories of my mom and my aunts. They were all four such strong, loving women and the absolute best mothers. They deserve for their memory to live on.
